According to a compilation from Sveriges Radio, the number of rape reports from men increased by 34 percent during the first half of 2025.
Last year, over 300 men reported to the police that they had been subjected to a rape. In most cases, they have been subjected by another man, but the reports also concern women.
At the same time, there is a large number of unreported cases. Stina Holmberg at the Crime Prevention Council says that in their annual victim study, around 20,000 men state that they have been subjected to rape in the past year.
Then it is a vanishingly small number who actually report to the police.
