Both incidents occurred on December 18 at the battery manufacturer's facility in Skellefteå, according to the newspaper. In one case, the toxic chemical N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, NMP, was detected on work clothes of some staff members.
The toxic chemical, which can damage airways and cause burns, was detected on staff in the personnel locker room outside the local area.
The second case involves an employee who was about to fall through an open hatch, which should have been self-closing. The employee narrowly avoided a fall, but sustained a rib injury, according to Norran.
The incident has been reported to the Work Environment Authority and we are investigating it in accordance with our routines. The second incident is also under investigation in accordance with our routine, says Northvolt's communications chief Matti Kataja to Norran.
