The alarm came at 15.38. The rescue service has since then been working on extinguishing the fire, and has, among other things, received help from a firefighting helicopter.
The fire is not entirely under control, but we have withdrawn some forces. We have changed tactics and set up mobile water cannons that make it possible for the personnel at the waste station to move the piles that have burned and extinguish them with sand or lime, said Ulrik Olsson, duty officer at the Fyrbodal rescue service at 21.30.
Later in the evening, the VMA was withdrawn.
There is a lot of smoke and a lot of water vapor, but we will soon be finishing up, said Olsson before the warning was lifted.
