Eight people were injured, two seriously, when a tram derailed on Gothenburg's main street during the night of Midsummer this year. After the derailment, the tram continued on the sidewalk before colliding with the street food stall, which was completely destroyed.
A preliminary investigation into gross negligence and gross bodily harm was initiated but has now been closed. A sudden illness caused the accident.
"Following the technical examination of the tram and the police's investigative measures, no information has emerged that could indicate that there was any intent to commit a crime," the police write on their website.
