The bus accident at the Stockholm University of Technology – where three women died and several were injured – was caused by illness, writes DN.

The accident occurred on November 14th of this year.

There are cameras in the bus that show that the driver was not conscious at the time, says Jonas Bäckstrand, Acting Director General of the Swedish Accident Investigation Board, to DN.

According to the Swedish Accident Investigation Board's report, the illness occurred when the driver stopped at a pedestrian crossing. The driver lost control of the bus, causing it to accelerate and drive onto a sidewalk at approximately eight kilometers per hour.

The Swedish Accident Investigation Board will not launch a formal investigation into the bus accident as it has now been determined that it was caused by an illness. However, the Swedish Prosecution Authority is continuing a legal investigation and the Swedish Transport Administration has launched a special investigation.
