A large number of trees to a value of about 400,000 kronor have been illegally cut down at a school in Karlstad and the police are now seeking witnesses to the incident, reports Värmlands Folkblad.

The trees are owned by Karlstad municipality and the incident is classified as gross vandalism. The suspected crime is believed to have taken place during the weekend of August 22-24.

It was a complete mess of trees, leaves and branches. You can call it a devastation, says Sophia Jiglind, press spokesperson for the police region Bergslagen, to NWT.
