Ikea's sales increase in Sweden was modest during the financial year 2025, but the furniture chain continues to take market shares, according to the company's country manager Emily Birkin.

Sales during the period September 2024 to August 2025 amounted to 18 billion kronor compared to 17.7 billion in 2024, an increase of 1.7 percent.

This at the same time as the number of physical visitors to the department stores continued to increase to 36.5 million compared to 35.3 million the previous year.

"We will continue to invest in Sweden to get closer to new and existing customers and to develop retail," says Emily Birkin in a press release.

Ikea now expects the home furnishings market to turn upwards with increased purchasing power among consumers.
