The notice is the result of a move in the flow of goods from the distribution centre in Älmhult to the corresponding centre in Torsvik, the furniture retailer said in a press release.
A notice of dismissal has also been issued at Ikea in Uppsala, where the group is cutting 15 white-collar positions. At the same time, 25–30 employees will be recruited in Uppsala to work with customer service and sales.
Ikea is also launching a new store format that will be established in about ten Swedish cities over the next three years. The aim is to make it easier for more customers to visit Ikea stores, according to Sara del Fabbro, country manager for Ikea Sweden.
