"I love the Folkteatern, so it is very sad to make this decision now," says Iggy Malmborg in a press release.
The press release emphasizes that the decision was made by mutual agreement between the theater and Malmborg. CEO Lotta Lekvall also says she looks forward to finding “other forms” of collaboration with him.
Iggy Malmborg was due to take up the position on January 1, 2028. Folkteatern is now resuming the recruitment process to find a new artistic director to succeed Frida Röhl.
