After six consecutive opening losses in the Allsvenskan, bottom-of-the-table IFK Värnamo sacks coaches Ferran Sibila and Robin Asterhed. Something that the website fotbolldirekt.se was the first to report.

"Yes, it's true", writes Asterhed about him and Sibila leaving, in an SMS to TV4's Fotbollskanalen.

Later on Monday afternoon, IFK Värnamo confirmed the news.

"After a comprehensive review with weak results throughout the season, nine lost competitive matches, including six in the Allsvenskan, the club feels that we need to make a change to achieve a turnaround", says sports manager Jörgen Peterson to the club's website.

The coaching duo took over the Småland club last year and saved the Allsvenskan contract by defeating Landskrona in the relegation playoffs. But after Sunday's loss to IFK Norrköping (1–3), they are now leaving the club.

On Saturday, Värnamo will face bottom contender Halmstads BK away, and who will replace the duo on the coaching bench has not been communicated.
