IFK Norrköping has sold its team captain Wilma Leidhammar to Birmingham, currently second in the English second division.
It is the most expensive sale of a women's player in the history of the football club, and one of the biggest deals in the Swedish women's league ever.
"It's no coincidence. Wilma has shown an extremely high level for several years and a development curve that has gone straight up," says IFK Norrköping's sports director Dennis Popperyd in a statement.
The 22-year-old Leidhammar scored eight goals and eight assists in the Swedish women's league last season.
