In a statement, Kommandobryggan, an association representing IFK Göteborg’s supporter groups, says it and Malmö FF’s supporters have agreed on something “more important than the rivalry on the pitch”.
“During the first 20 minutes of the match, we will join Malmö’s supporters in holding a protest. Kommandobryggan will also remain silent,” they write.
The silent protest follows last week’s derby against Häcken. After a flare was thrown, riot police in protective gear decided to enter IFK Göteborg’s lower stands. Chaos broke out and 15 people were arrested.
The police’s actions have been heavily criticized by several people in Swedish football.
The fans are also holding a protest march.
