IFK Göteborg were clearly the better team and had a chance to take the lead at the end of the first half. But Tobias Heintz missed a poor penalty.

In the second half, the away team took the lead. Adam Bergmark Wiberg got free and elegantly chipped the ball in to make it 1–0.

IFK Göteborg then had the chance to decide the tie - again from the penalty spot. This time it was Sam Larsson's turn to miss and the match went into extra time.

There Wiberg stepped up again, scored two goals and the match ended 3–1. IFK Göteborg are thus through to the next round of the ECL qualifiers after a combined 4–3 over two matches.

Next up is Belgian Gent, where former Häcken player Momodou Sonko became a penalty hero against Ukrainian Cherkasy on Thursday.

European games have been a dream since I was little, so you want to take advantage of the opportunity when it arises and that's what we're doing today, Adam Bergmark Wiberg told Aftonbladet.

Another Gothenburg team also played in the Conference League qualifiers. Gais had a 1–0 win against Nordsjälland. In the return match in Denmark, the Allsvenskan club didn't have much to offer. Nordsjälland were superior and won 6–0 (6–1 on aggregate).
