The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Minnesota has received new guidelines to avoid interacting with so-called "agitators," Reuters reports.

"It does nothing but worsen the situation. No one will convince the other," a senior ICE official wrote in an email seen by the news agency.

The call comes after President Donald Trump stated that the situation in Minneapolis should be "stepped down a little" in the wake of the two fatal shootings in the city by federal police.
