Ica is recalling prawns. According to Ica, there is a risk that the prawns contain vibrio bacteria, which can pose a health hazard.
The recall applies to frozen cooked Ica Vannamei prawns 400 grams large without shells, with a best-before date of 17-07-2026.
"We take the incident seriously and are now investigating together with the supplier how this could have happened and how we can ensure it does not happen again," says Lena Sparring, quality manager at Ica Sweden, in a press release.
Eating raw fish or shellfish contaminated with vibrio bacteria can cause stomach and intestinal infections, according to the Public Health Agency.
Customers who purchased the product are advised to discard it and to file a complaint via Ica online or contact Ica's customer service.
