When the food VAT is reduced from 12 to 6 percent this spring, Ica will lower its prices by the same amount. Yes, we will definitely make that tax cut, says CEO Nina Jönsson in Ekot's Saturday interview.

On April 1 next year, food VAT will be reduced from 12 to 6 percent until December 31, 2027. A budget investment for the election year that costs SEK 16 billion.

ICA Group CEO Nina Jönsson tells Sveriges Radio that the food price reduction will persist over time and dismisses the risk of sneaky price increases ahead of the VAT reduction.

We have no such plans. There are also regulations that regulate this so that you can't do that. Instead, each Ica retailer sets its own prices.
