On the poster for "Evigt Edvin" a scantily clad Edvin Törnblom lies, holding a giant syringe against his now-flat stomach. It has been about a year since he started taking the weight loss medication Mounjaro. As the pounds have flowed off him, the hatred has increased. He talks about disguised compliments that are actually intended to offend.
I get lots of these kinds of "insults": "God, you've become so thin, I don't recognize you" and "Now you can't lose any more weight," for example.
A bad person who gets injections
The performance includes a number about diet pills and the heated debate about them. As an overweight person, you can't do the right thing, says Edvin Törnblom.
You get shit when you're fat and when you get thin you get shit because you lost weight the wrong way. You're expected to have starved and felt pissed, otherwise you've cheated.
The only positive thing about my weight loss is that I can now buy pants I could only dream of before, he continues.
Another difference is all the comments about his appearance. Now everyone has an opinion, mostly negative. When he weighed more, there was silence.
"I'm told I look terrible and that I'm a lazy, bad person who's been on injections. I get a lot of hate," he says.
But despite the fact that the show addresses seemingly heavy topics, it is "a damn wonderful show," he says.
I've sinned a lot
It's not a biblical reading of the deadly sins, but a modern revue where I end up in hell because I've sinned so much.
In other words: It's going to be a hell of a lot of fun.
Many people think you shouldn't joke about certain things, but I think it's a fantastic way to deal with life.
Both the sin and the subsequent fear of death are based on Edvin Törnblom's own experiences.
"I have really sinned a lot in my time. Absolutely. But I don't intend to reveal more than that now," he says.
However, his fear of death has decreased over the years.
The older I get, the less I feel it. I've done such fun things that I can think 'If I were to die now, I'd be happy.' I've had a great time!
