SHL giant HV71's sports director Björn Liljander is on sick leave indefinitely, the 43-year-old is temporarily replaced by Fredrik Stillman, the club writes in a press release.

The fact that sports director Björn Liljander has been taken off sick is yet another difficult message for HV71, who are last in the SHL standings after only four wins in 16 rounds. It is unclear exactly when Liljander will return.

"The hope is that Björn will be back in the organization and in service soon," says HV71's club director Richard Nylin in a comment.

Assistant sports director Fredrik Stillman, who recently extended his contract with HV71 for another three years, will temporarily take over Liljander's role. Stillman has a long history with the Jönköping club, where he played 16 seasons as an active player and has subsequently served as both sports director and assistant coach.
