HV71 forward Måns Lindbäck will likely be out for the season after an injury that requires surgery.
In the beginning of the third period of Thursday's SHL match against Timrå, Lindbäck crashed into the boards and was forced to leave the game, which Timrå won 5–2.
The club writes on its website that Lindbäck has suffered a lower body injury.
"First and foremost, it's extremely sad for Måns. He will undergo an operation in the coming days and unfortunately, we don't count on him playing anymore this season", says club doctor Jonas Kalman.
HV71 has now had three players sidelined for a long time, previously it was defenseman Oliwer Kaski and forward Åke Stakkestad who are out for the entire season due to injuries.
