After six straight losses, the crisis team HV71 finally had reason to celebrate. On the verge of a tied bottom record in SHL, the Jönköping team won over Leksand with 2–1. Defender Hugo Fransson, 21, became the match winner. It has been tough weeks, says HV coach Anton Blomqvist to TV4 Play.

Blomqvist's description of how the season start has been said the most.

It feels like the season has been going on for two years and we have been going on for two weeks. It has been tough weeks.

HV71 had made its worst season start in the top league already just under a week ago after five straight losses.

Then came another loss and with a new setback, the team would equal the bottom record in SHL/top league context of seven straight losses in the season start.

It had happened on three occasions, according to TV4, Timrå (1977-78), Färjestad (1993-94) and Leksand (2014-15).

Offered a tie

But pressured coach Anton Blomqvist and his team finally got to celebrate a win.

HV71 took control of the game from the start, but the lead goal would be delayed until 3.33 into the second period when Jonathan Ang could take advantage of sloppy play by the guests in their own zone.

Leksand finished the second period strongly, but the 1-1 tie came after an invitation. Defender Axel Rindell hit a rough mispass in his own zone, Michael Lindqvist played forward Oskar Lang who distinctly shot 1-1.

Young defender Hugo Fransson, 21, struck in the middle of the third period and could after an individual performance shoot 2-1.

On the goal line

Leksand hunted however all the way to the end, took out the goalkeeper and had the puck dancing on the goal line behind HV goalkeeper Frederik Dichow.

Now we have the margins on our side for once. We had a bit of luck, but we have deserved it, meant Anton Blomqvist.

HV71 left the bottom spot and passed Linköping. Up to Brynäs above the qualifying line, two points separate.

Leksand is in ninth place in the table.
