Noah Philp was recruited to be a leading centre for HV71 for the upcoming season.
Now the club is forced to rethink. The agreement between the parties has been terminated before the season has even started.
"I sincerely apologize to HV71 and everyone involved regarding the timing of my decision, but I have decided to stop playing hockey," says Philp.
Philp was announced by HV71 on June 24, having credentials from the NHL and games in Edmonton and Carolina. As part of the transfer, he signed a contract that ran for one season, with an option for another year.
