A hunter was attacked by a bear in the area around Skarvsjöby in Storumans municipality on Tuesday, reports Västerbottens-Kuriren. The hunter has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.
There has been an accident in connection with the bear hunt. A hunter has got bite wounds in both arms, says Erik Lindberg Nordenberg, wildlife manager at the county administrative board in Västerbotten, to the magazine.
Lars-Åke Löfqvist, ambulance chief at Region Västerbotten, tells VK that the hunter is estimated to have got moderate injuries.
It is an adult individual who is affected. The person has been taken to Lycksele hospital.
SVT Västerbotten writes that it was a previously shot bear that went to attack the hunter. The bear was then put down.
It was a female. We have had staff on site who have inspected the bear, says Ellinor Sahlén, predator case officer at the county administrative board, to SVT.
