Magyar's statement comes in connection with his meeting with the mayor of the Ukrainian city of Berehove, which is in Transcarpathia - an area that borders Hungary and has a significant Hungarian minority.
“The goal of the meeting is to improve the situation of Hungarians in Transcarpathia and their ability to remain in their homeland,” writes Magyar, continuing:
“If we can sort out these issues, we can certainly open a new chapter in the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Hungary.”
Magyar proposes that the meeting be held in Berehove in early June.
