Hungary lowers interest rate – forint strengthens

Hungary's central bank lowers the interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to 6.50 percent – which is the highest interest rate level among EU central banks.

The decrease was in line with expectations. The Hungarian currency, the forint, moved marginally upwards against the euro after the announcement.
