410 restaurants, pubs and other businesses have applied to serve alcohol outside of regular hours during the World Cup, according to a Visita survey sent to all municipalities in the country.
Nearly 90 percent of the applications are from businesses that already have a serving permit and want to extend their serving hours. However, around 50 applications are from businesses that do not have a permanent serving permit.
"It's fantastic to see so much interest, and it shows that the abolished food and kitchen requirement makes it easier to open on special occasions," says Christer Fogelmarck, CEO of Visita.
