The incident occurred on Friday evening shortly after 8 p.m. local time.
“More than 200 people have already been evacuated from the scene, including children,” Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv region’s military command, said on Telegram.
He added that at least six people were injured.
An investigation has been launched into whether the warehouse was being managed as it should have been.
Both Russia and Ukraine have for several months intensified their long-range attacks and increased attacks on civilian infrastructure such as warehouses and oil and port facilities.
