Hultqvist Calls for Law Review After Landerholm Acquittal

If the acquittal of the former security coordinator Henrik Landerholm is not appealed and changed in a higher instance, the law should be reviewed, thinks the former Minister of Defence Peter Hultqvist (S). It cannot be that one is so grossly negligent with secret documents and then gets away with it, he says.

Attunda District Court has found that the documents which Henrik Landerholm in March 2023 forgot at a conference center were classified. However, it is not considered grossly negligent, and Landerholm is acquitted of the charges.

A weak outcome in court, thinks Peter Hultqvist.

If this is the level that applies to sentencing and analysis in court, then the law should be tightened and rewritten.

Although Landerholm is considered to have been negligent, it is not considered to be a deliberate risk-taking, or to be under such aggravating circumstances that are required for a conviction.

There is no explanation whatsoever that I think is acceptable. Classified documents should not be disclosed. That is the very idea.
