The drugs are estimated to have a market value of around SEK 600 million and include methamphetamine, heroin and opium, according to the Turkish Ministry of Trade.

AFP, citing the news agencies DHA and IHA, reported that the truck came from Iran.

Turkey shares a border with Iran and is located along the so-called Balkan route, which is used to transport Afghan heroin to Europe.

In 2025, Turkish authorities seized a total of 33.6 tons of drugs, with a market value of around SEK 9.1 billion.
