"We continue to protect birds and fish while providing farmers, fishermen, forest rangers and businesses with workable and balanced rules," writes Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall in a press release.
Among other things, it includes clarifications on how EU countries can make exceptions to shoot and otherwise control the cormorant population, as well as examples of deterrence measures.
Both Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L) and Minister for Rural Affairs and Fisheries Peter Kullgren (KD) have long pressed the EU for more measures against the cormorant.
