The Islamist Houthi movement in Yemen, backed by Iran, is threatening Israel with a blockade of the port of Haifa. All ships en route there are being marked as "targets".
"All shipping companies with vessels that are in or are en route to the port are hereby informed that the said port, as of the time of this announcement, has been put on the list of targets", says Yehya Saree, military spokesperson for the movement, in a statement.
The message is a response to Israel's escalation in the Gaza war. Earlier on Monday, President Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel would "take control" of all of Gaza.
The port of Haifa is Israel's largest.
