Houthis Say 17 Civilians, Most of Them Children, Killed in Saudi-Led Yemen Airstrikes

The Iran-backed Houthi movement says 17 civilians have been killed in Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen over the past two days.

In a statement, Houthi-controlled health authorities said most of those killed were children and that the attacks targeted residential areas and markets.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed that the Saudi-led alliance had carried out 109 airstrikes in several parts of the country over the past 24 hours. The movement also claimed responsibility for drone attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia.

An alliance spokesman also said that a drone had been shot down in the region around the holy city of Mecca following repeated attacks by Houthi rebels.
