The Houthis claim to have hit the Aramco refinery in Jizan with a drone in a precision strike, according to the movement's military spokesman, Yahya Saree, who said the attack was in response to Saudi drone strikes over northwestern Yemen.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy said earlier that a fire had broken out at the refinery and that it had been extinguished. No one was injured, according to the ministry, which did not say what caused the fire.
The Houthi movement controls large parts of Yemen and has recently threatened shipping and Saudi oil facilities. At the same time, Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a central point of conflict in the Middle East war started by the US and Israel in February.
