The representative warns other countries against siding with Saudi Arabia, but says the movement has assured the US government that American ships will be able to sail through the sea.
"We confirm that we are not targeting the United States or any other nation in the strait, with the sole exception of the Saudi enemy," the representative told the AP.
The statement follows an attack with a ballistic missile that the Houthis fired at the Saudi capital, Riyadh, over the weekend.
