The attack targeted "weapons depots and command centres" and was carried out with missiles and drones, said Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree, according to AFP.
It is not clear exactly when the alleged attack took place. Intense fighting has been ongoing this week between the Iran-backed Houthis and Yemeni government forces backed by Saudi Arabia.
The Houthi movement recently captured the southern part of Yemen's Red Sea coast, consolidating its control over the Bab al-Mandab Strait. On Saturday, the government website published videos purporting to show counterattacks against the Houthis, according to Al Jazeera.
