It is still pointing upwards for the construction sector, shows Byggfaktas latest measurement. In August, the so-called Construction Start Indicator rose by 0.4 percent.
"The indicator has been strongly affected by the start of individual large industrial projects. This effect is now decreasing", says analysis manager Tor Borg in a press release.
It is going slightly better for residential construction. There, the indicator rises 1.5 percent in August. Over the past year, it has risen by 29 percent.
However, it is still at low levels compared to a few years ago.
"The recovery in residential construction continues. Although the percentage increase is large, the strength of the increase should not be exaggerated. The indicator is still at half the level it was at in the autumn of 2021", says Tor Borg.
The current forecast points to over 26,000 new homes in the pace of 2024.
