Hotel prices rise 6 percent in Sweden in April as occupancy climbs

"The outcome is mainly characterized by increased demand, higher occupancy rates and increased willingness to pay. One explanation is that the increase mainly occurred on weekdays when business travelers dominate and prices are higher," says Thomas Jakobsson, chief economist at Visita, in a press release.

At the same time, the booking situation ahead of the summer indicates demand will remain high. The figures show bookings are 7 percent higher than at the same time last year.
