The number of rented hotel rooms increased in June by just over eight percent at the same time as hotel prices rose by five percent, according to figures from the trade organization Visita.

The increase occurred in both major cities and in the rest of Sweden. In Stockholm and Gothenburg, demand was driven up by events and concerts, including Håkan Hellström's concerts at Ullevi, according to Visita.

But the city where the number of sold hotel rooms increased the most in June was Malmö.
