Several buildings near the bank have been cordoned off and about a dozen police cars, medical personnel and the FBI are at the scene.
"This is an active crime scene. If you are in the area, please leave," Police Chief Eric Celedon said earlier in the night, according to the AP.
Negotiators have established contact with the man by phone and one of the hostages has reportedly been released. The others are “in good health,” according to Celedon.
"We have all available resources in place to achieve the safest possible exit," Celedon said.
"The focus is on the safety of everyone involved," a spokesperson for the bank said.
The motive for the incident is unknown.
