The husband, a former senior physician at Säs, did not admit a woman who had made a serious suicide attempt in October last year. The same patient was also allegedly prescribed too much medication by another senior physician, a close friend of the department head.
A member of the nursing staff then wrote a report of non-compliance, which the department head dismissed.
Then you end up in a strange situation. It's inappropriate, says Jerker Nilsson, chief physician at Säs who reported the incident to Lex Maria, to P4.
Monica Hjelmgren, operations manager at Säs, does not want to comment on individual personnel matters but tells P4 that it is obvious that there is a need to ensure that there is no conflict of interest at the hospital.
The department head does not want to be interviewed.
