Tre Kronor's assistant general manager, Patric Hörnqvist, steps down.

The former NHL star believes that the assignment in the ice hockey national team takes up too much time.

I noticed it now when we had Four Nations. It becomes a bit the same with the Olympic Games. There, even more scouting is required as the squad is selected later, he says in the Viaplay podcast Good morning NHL.

If I'm going to do it, I want to do it fully. I have a wife and two children and would rather spend time with them than Tre Kronor.

Hörnqvist, who works with player development and scouting for Florida Panthers, has been the assistant general manager in Tre Kronor since the World Championship 2024 after having been a sounding board for the national team captain Sam Hallam for a while. This year there were both Four Nations and the World Championship on home ground.
