Hong Kong stock market falls as Hang Seng down 1% amid unrest near the Strait of Hormuz

Several Wall Street indices fell on Monday after reports of Iranian attacks on targets in the United Arab Emirates and other developments. The US also said that several Iranian ships had been attacked.

In Asia, several of the major stock exchanges remain closed on Tuesday. One exception is the Hang Seng, which was down at lunchtime. At 11 a.m. local time, the index was down 1.0 percent.

Among today's losers is Chinese technology conglomerate Tencent, which has a stake in gaming giant Ubisoft. The stock was down 1.0 percent.
