The proposal has been discussed with large brokerage firms and trading houses in recent weeks, according to the sources.
No final decision has been made. However, under one proposal, the start of trading could be brought forward by half an hour to 9:00 local time, while the lunch break would be eliminated. Evening trading is also proposed, to capture large price movements on Wall Street.
Some stakeholders surveyed have warned of high costs for evening trading.
Extended trading hours are a global theme, including after the American Nasdaq presented plans for trading 23 hours a day, five days a week.
