Hernández thanked Trump on Sunday for his pardon: "The best-informed president in the world said: 'I have reviewed the case - my team and I have reviewed it in detail - and it is an immense injustice,'" Hernández said upon his return to Tegucigalpa.
A US court found him guilty of, among other things, large-scale drug smuggling into the US in a trial in 2024.
Hernández was president of the Central American republic from 2014 to 2022.
