Home sales in Sweden rose by 9 percent in September compared with the same month last year, according to new figures from Swedish Real Estate Statistics.
The price trends differed for condominiums and villas. Nationwide, condominium prices rose by 1.6 percent in September, while villa prices fell by 0.4 percent compared with August.
Villa prices fell slightly in Greater Stockholm but rose in Greater Gothenburg. Prices also increased in Malmö.
"Our quarterly survey of members gives a picture of a market with strong demand that is seen as more predictable than it has been in a long time, despite uncertainty about future interest rates," says Oskar Öholm, CEO of the Swedish Brokers' Association (a real estate agents’ trade association), in a press release.
