The snowstorm is causing problems for elderly care. The city of Gothenburg is receiving reinforcements from the Home Guard - in the form of tracked vehicles, reports P4 Gothenburg.

Large amounts of snow have fallen in the Gothenburg area over the past 24 hours, making it difficult to get around on the roads. With the help of the Home Guard's tracked vehicles, home care staff will be able to reach users in the Torslanda area during the night.

There will be resources from the defense throughout the night if needed, company commander Mikael Reidar told the radio.

The municipalities of Kungälv and Ale used tracked vehicles from the Volunteer Resource Group (FRG) to assist home services on Wednesday and Thursday, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
