The score was 1–0 after just over ten minutes - before Holmström single-handedly took over the team's scoring. In February and March he had scored only one goal before this game. He then scored two goals in three minutes of play.
The score remained 3–0 until the beginning of the third period, when Mikael Backlund reduced the deficit for the away team. However, Calgary was unable to equalize, and the match ended 3–2.
