For Chicago's two Swedes, goalkeeper Arvid Söderblom and new Swedish coach Anders Sörensen, it was not so cheerful. Gothenburger Söderblom let in five goals on nineteen shots and Sörensen substituted him a bit into the third period, after Islanders' 5–1 goal.
I think we did some good things, but, again, we lose the spark a few times in the second and third periods. It's something we need to take care of, says Anders Sörensen after the match.
On three matches for Sörensen, it's now one win and two losses.
Chicago took the lead through wonderkid Connor Bedard and led 1–0 a bit into the second before Dennis Cholowski equalized, assisted by Simon Holmström, who then made it 2–1.
Holmström also passed to 4–1 in the third period and it became a fifth goal for Islanders before Chicago came back and made three quick ones. But when Tyler Bertuzzi set Chicago's fourth goal, there were only ten seconds left and the game was basically over.
Total of three points for Simon Holmström, thus.
