Celebrity-packed Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Santa Monica are hard hit by the fire in Los Angeles, which has received extra fuel and spread quickly due to strong winds that have swept in over the coastal neighborhoods.
Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars", is among the film stars who have been forced to leave their homes and take the coastal road, CPH, from there.
Worst in 30 years
"Evacuated Malibu at the last minute, so late that there were small fires on both sides of the road as we approached CPH", Hamill writes on Instagram, adding that it is the worst fire he has experienced in Los Angeles in over 30 years.
TV star Mandy Moore has also had to leave her house with pick and pack, along with her children and pets.
"So grateful to the rescue service", she writes on Instagram.
Reality TV personalities Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag saw their house burn down to the ground, according to TMZ. Swedish reality profile Gunilla Persson, who lives in the neighborhood, has followed the evacuation order and left her home, she says in a post on Instagram.
Now we're going, says Gunilla Persson in her latest post.
Cancelled premieres
Actors like Eugene Levy and James Woods are also among those who have had to evacuate their homes.
The fire is also having other consequences for Hollywood. The galapremieres for the new TV series "The Pitt" and the Robbie Williams film "Better man" have been cancelled. The organizers do not want to disturb the rescue service's work.
"Due to the dangerous situation in Los Angeles, we are cancelling the premiere of 'Better man'. Our thoughts are with those affected by the terrible fires", says the film company Paramount in a statement.
The Wednesday event to present the nominations for the SAG Awards has also been cancelled.
