Hollywood actors such as Emily Blunt, Natasha Lyonne and Whoopi Goldberg reject the new "AI actor" Tilly Norwood, reports BBC. The American actors' union calls Norwood "it".

Norwood was presented at the film festival in Zürich and is, according to its creator, the Dutch Eline Van der Velden, to be seen as "the next Scarlett Johansson". Eline Van der Velden has also created an Instagram page with pictures from fake test shoots.

But "it" is no actor, objects the American film and entertainment union Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (Sag-Aftra).

"It has no life experience to draw from, no feelings, and judging from what we have seen, the audience is not interested in watching computer-generated content disconnected from human experience", says the union in a statement.

Sag-Aftra also reminds that film studios using Norwood risk violating the agreements made after the major strike in 2023. The actress Natasha Lyonne urges a boycott of any studios that get it into their heads to use Tilly Norwood.

According to Eline Van der Velden, Norwood should not be seen as a replacement for humans but as "a creative work – a work of art", writes BBC which, however, has not managed to get in touch with Van der Velden.
