"After preparation and review, the federation board has now taken a position on the issue and approved Högsbo Basket to play in the SBL women's league in 2026–2027," the federation writes on its website.
In April, the Gothenburg team Högsbo, which won silver in last year's Swedish Championship, decided to withdraw from the top league. After internal criticism, it changed its mind, according to Radiosporten, and chose to submit an application to play in the top league.
Without Högsbo, the basketball league would have had to play with only eleven teams.
